I’ve not done much posting here but enjoy reading what others are doing and recommending. For CD playback I have a Delta Transport and Sigma II tube processor both from California Audio Labs (CAL) which I’ve had since new (bought mid to late-90’s for about $3500 from memory). Back in the day these were very well regarded and they’ve served me well. I got rid of most of my CDs about 5 years ago and just listen to vinyl (and a bit of digital) these days.
Sadly, I went to play a CD the other day and although the transport is working fine, the DAC (or Tube Processor as it’s called) doesn’t work. I suspect there's a cap or valve that's gone but I don’t know how to go about analyzing or fixing it. I figure it’s better for someone else to do this and have a lovely front end for themselves.
I have original manuals & sturdy packaging along with remote, power cables and a nice Straightwire interconnect. I live in Tauranga, NZ and happy to ship at buyers’ expense through NZ or Australia. In order to put this in the classifieds I've put in a value of NZD200 but no real idea of value.
