Hi folks ; this is my prized piece of audio equipment and I never thought I would sell it.
However after sitting in it's box for several years and having bought a Technics SL 10 with linear tracking arm which won't take this cart. I've decided to move it on.
I bought it quite a few years ago from Trevor Lees Audio in Kew ( Melbourne ), and it's a magnificently detailed and dynamic cartridge ... the best I've heard ( obviously I haven't heard them all ! ).
On the front of the body, under the Accuphase name, is " v d Hul ", obviously referring to Van Den Hul, but I don't know anything further.
I had it retipped with a Garrott Bros. stylus at Tivoli Audio and it's done very little work since. I had it in my Alphason Sonata and Goldmund Studietto turntables. At my age ( 73 ) the Technics is now quite good enough.
Pricing it was guesswork, but I thought I'd see what interest is out there. Included in the pictures are the original lab read out and a note I wrote at the time of purchase, with specifications.
