Further Information

Hi all,

Selling an Ascension 5.0 system that has been in our living room for about 7 years. We are moving and have architectural speakers in the new home, so these will not be coming with us.

The speakers are:

  • Summoner mains I purchased from another SNAer around 7 years' ago, in a semi-gloss black. These are transmission-line speakers with a Fountek ribbon.

  • The centre is a custom 253SQ I had made by Edward about 5 years' ago in a matching black. It's in a custom cabinet of 500w x 240h x 310d - this means the mid-range and tweeter sit above and below each other and were a better fit for us and the TV shelf, as it allowed us to place a component either side which worked better in our rack and also meant we could mount them below the TV on a more favorable axis.

  • The surrounds are a Firesprite 502PR that I purchased with my original Timberwolves back in about 2008. They are stained in a walnut finish.

Cosmetically the speakers and grills are all very good for age and happy to demo these on a weekend for an interested party.

The Summoner mains are very kind from a room-positioning perspective and I've mounted them on floor spikes and Herbies gliders, which are included in the sale. The bass response from these speakers is great for their size and the ribbon makes them very accurate. They are a great for 2-channel listening and they were in my study for the first couple of years when I purchased them for that purpose.

The surrounds have the matching ribbon tweeter and together the speakers make for a very cohesive and engaging system. The surrounds are wall mounted and I'm happy to supply the wall mounts to the buyer, although the wall-mounts are over 15 years' old and well past their used-by date.

No lowballers please or offers - they are priced to sell.
