For Sale: Almarro A318B Single-Ended Triode Integrated Amplifier

Original, unmodified examples rarely come onto the market.

Since settling on a pair of vintage Goodmans Axiom 80 speakers, which really seem happier with my lower-powered 2A3 and 300B amps, the Almarro simply isn't getting much use these days. I'm not in any particular rush to sell, but I can't really justify having three SET amplifiers.

Purchased from the late Richard Prosser (Smp), who many will remember for his knack of finding great audio gear. Richard used the amp sparingly and, in the short time I've owned it, I estimate it has seen no more than another 12 months' use. I think the photographs, particularly of the underside, tell the story better than I can, with very little wear evident inside or out.

If you're not familiar with the Almarro A318B, the 6moons review below gives an excellent overview, noting its natural presentation, quiet operation and transformer design.

Like much sought-after Japanese hi-fi, the A318B has developed something of a cult following over the years. With production having ceased many years ago, original examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, as owners tend to hang onto them.
