Electrical Disclaimer Description

I am selling my AURALIC Aries G1 streamer because I am downsizing.

It has been a trusty partner to the Denafrips Pontus 2 (see separate ad) in my digital journey; the first components to really sway a committed analogue lover purely by virtue of musicality. I think each product is in the 'sweet spot' of value for money as well, unless you are independently wealthy.

From The Net:

The Auralic Aries G1 is a high-performance, transport-only wireless streamer designed to route digital audio to an external DAC. It features the lightning-fast Tesla G2 processing platform, supports resolutions up to 32-bit/764kHz PCM and DSD512, and natively integrates with streaming platforms like Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, and Roon

  • High-resolution front-panel display

  • Fast streaming playback access

  • Versatile Lightning DS control app--easy to use and effective

  • Provision of Lightning web interface for changing device configuration

  • Smart IR remote control feature

    Standout Features

  • Zero Internal DAC: It acts purely as a transport, allowing Auralic to dedicate all processing power and chassis space strictly to routing pristine digital signals.

  • Robust Connectivity: Features a full suite of digital outputs, including USB, AES/EBU, Coaxial, and Optical S/PDIF.

  • Lightning DS App: Widely praised for its stability, this iOS-compatible app allows deep control over music libraries, parametric EQ, and upsampling.

  • Dual Linear Power Supplies: Separates the processing power from the sensitive audio pathways to drastically reduce noise.

  • Storage Options: Includes a USB-A port for external hard drives and allows for an internal SSD via a separate mounting kit.

Pros

  • Sonic Performance: Delivers an incredibly wide, deep soundstage with high detail, black backgrounds, and a relaxed, easy presentation compared to lesser streamers.

  • Build Quality: Features a rigid, heavy-duty cabinet and a beautiful 4-inch high-resolution color screen that displays album art and track information.

  • Flexibility: Can act as a quasi-CD transport if you connect an external USB disk drive.

Cons

  • App Ecosystem: The dedicated Lightning DS app is exclusive to iOS, though non-Apple users can still control the unit via a web interface or Roon.

One critic stated:

"The Aries G1 was a revolution for my system. I am keeping it... The improvements it made to my system were obvious from the moment I clicked play. Outside of its playback performance, it offered stable software, incredible design, and an excellent presentation. Seeing the difference it made in low level noise in my system simply sealed the deal and explained some of the audible improvement I heard."

Mine is a pet-free, non-smoking music room. I can't demonstrate because I have sold much of my system. The unit works fine and always has. I cannot find the box but effective protective packing would be easy.
