Further Information:
For sale is a Cary CAD 120S Mark 1 valve power amplifier. Rated 60 watts per channel in Class A triode mode, and 120 watts per channel in Class AB ultralinear mode.
220 volts native.
This power amplifier has 8 tubes. The current output valves set is a professionally matched octet of 8 Electro-Harmonix Russian EL 34 valves. They are early in their lifespan.
The little guys are 6SN7 Sovteks and Sylvanias. Again, they are early in their lifespan and are professionally matched.
Audition is available. I am able to bring it in to the HiFi Show, double boxed for sale or audition.
The amplifier was purchased from Nik at Audiophile in Carlton North (still miss him) who said the amplifier was in the first dozen off Cary's production line and as such was personally supervised by its designer Dennis Had just before he retired from his decades of amplifier design. Apparently the first 25 were so supervised by Dennis.

Discussion
This is the Mark 1 model. The links above are to the Mark 2 model, where changes were made to gain to allow for a wider range of speakers to perform using this amplifier. The general specifications of the Mark 1 as listed are identical to the Mark 2. If you want to know more about the difference between the Mark 1 and the Mark 2 then the relevant paragraph is on this page:

I am selling because I have bought some horns, which are really sensitive. I now only need a 300B amplifier (8 watts) not the 60 watts of this lovely machine. I had planned on a path that took me to hard-to-drive floorstanding speakers and had just replaced the octet on the CAD 120S when the horns came up for sale.
This power amplifier has been serviced by Lucas of Black Art Audio. He looked at the circuitry and as a precaution has added an overload cutout for the unlikely event of the valves getting wildly out of balance, making this amplifier safer for the novice valve user. Lucas said for this advert:

No probs mentioning me, you can also point out they were great on the hungrier speakers but not the horns etc
