With the advanced M-Scaler section, in my system I found that it gave superior sounding results when connected before a CHORD DAVE, Hugo TT2 or impressive Qutest DAC in Dual BNC mode. The 176 kHz and 384 kHz upsampling rates gave the clarity, tone and sound quality I was after, with 768 kHz still available if a deeper soundstage was sought.
Using the remote control, the Blu Mk2 CD display can be turned off, so the M-Scaler can do duty in a more dedicated way with a streamer / music server via the USB input.
Besides BNC connections, the Blu Mk2 unit also features both single and dual AES/EBU digital outputs to a DAC, so your flying high if your DAC has dual AES digital inputs such as a dCS LINA – Bartok – Rossini - dCS Network Bridge.
I’ve compared the Blu Mk2 CD section (via a single BNC S/PDIF) to the latest Esoteric Atlas CD/SACD transport, and I’m happy to report the Blu2 with Phillips CD Pro 2 drive is in the same ballpark and sounds very good as well.
Colour is quality Black anodised. It has the Original box and packaging, remote control. A future classic. This unit is in outstanding condition with low hours of use.
