Its time for spring cleaning, so doing a bit of a cleanup on my 2nd system. I've got too much gear (is that really possible?) and not enough space, so having to move this amp on.

YOU WILL NOT FIND ANYTHING BETTER ANYWHERE NEAR THE PROCE OF THIS UNIT! With the upgrade. you would have to spend north of $2000 to $3000 new to get even close to the performance this amp. Works particularly well with PMC speakers, or speakers on the warm side of neutral, gives them sparkle and a natural sense of rythm/timing.

I've been running this Cyrus 3 amp for a few years now, and its been a superb amplifier. I was running it with a CYRUS POWER power amp, and the optional PSX-R power supplies, for a kickass office system, that didnt take much room considering its quality, power and flexibility. Especially considering that it has a better than average phono stage built into the amp for MM cartridges!

I was bi amping, so I had the CYRUS 3 driving the upper frequencies on my speakers, and the POWER driving the bas drivers. Its a kickass combination, with rhythm and drive like few brands can do. The CYRUS amps are a perfect match for PMC speakers which I previously had, but they also sang on my Dali office speakers, delivering a sweet but authoritative sound, with amazing bass and rhythm. Don't be deceived by the modest power ratings - this amp rocks!

This CYRUS 3 was sent off to Tim at Tuned In Audio with the POWER and PSX-R units for him to check them over and do some of his magic updates to them. So this amplifier is running perfectly, perhaps better than when it came out of the factory, and is good for another 15-20 years. OH, and Tim replaced the stoooopid speaker sockets - they have been replaced with proper banana plug sockets, so you don't need any obscure/funny adaptors

Its a pity I have to split the combination up, as they really work well all together, so if anyone ants to buy the CYRUS 3, CYRUS Power power amp, and 2 x PSX-R I'll do a special price and throw in a Logitech Harmony remote programmed for the CYRUS 3 and the FM6

I have an original CYRUS box so post Australia wide is no issue

And now the obligatory manufacturer info...

The Cyrus III is a conservatively rated 50W per channel integrated amplifier designed to become the core of a quality audio system. Following in footsteps of its well respected Cyrus I & II, the Cyrus III has moved on to address the life style requirements of the 90s as well as having the ability for expansion into a fully integrated audio-visual system. As a first upgrade, a PSX-R will enhance the overall performance of the Cyrus III both in quantity and quality.

Cyrus III features high grade SMD components throughout which assist in topology optimisation resulting in shorter signal paths. This is highly desirable in a quality audio amplifier in helping reduce a multitude of complex distortions and adverse interaction with the environment.

A major design mandate of the amplifier was the total symmetry of the design. This has been substantially achieved throughout the phono, line and the power amplifier sections. The true symmetry is particularly important in the power amplifier stage, that handles high signal currents, to provide stable image and accurate localisation cues. A sophisticated 180VA toroidal power transformer forms the essential part of the Cyrus III advanced linear Power supply system. The “zero-mechanical-noise” core design of this transformer ensures high performance within an unusually wide AC mains voltage. The patented slotted-foil reservoir capacitors dispel circulating eddy currents in the foil reducing the ESR as well as substantially increasing the effective power supply bandwidth as seen by the amplifiers.
