These are quick and dirty full range open baffle speakers I built to see what all the fuss is with open baffle speakers. Drivers are SB acoustics 8" SB20FRPC30-8 and can be bought new for $70 plus shipping.
The speakers were built just to test the open baffle concept and obviously weren't made to look good, the plan was always to replace them with something better if I liked them. It turns out they sound extremely good from the lower midrange up and cast a massive immersive soundstage. I will be using the same drivers in a two way design with a 15" woofer. Selling to recoup some $$ for the time and effort. If you are open baffle curious these represent a good way to see what it's all about. There's not a whole lot of bass though, as per the normal open baffle curse. A small sub would be an ideal pairing. For simple vocals and instrumentals they sound awesome as is.
The front baffle is 50 x 70cm.
