Further Information: Selling my long term power outlet and cables. The ISOL-8 minisub 2 is a DC blocker and extension outlet. I have tried a few different conditioners and have always gone back to this box. It does not reduce dynamics nor speed; it just makes things a little quieter, background a little darker, and stabilise the imaging. A replacement unit these days is over $2.5k. As my system was UK plug based, I am including all the Clearer Audio Copper Line power cords (all approx. 1.8m), some have been upgraded to Furutech/ Wattgate plugs. I have tried Voodoo cables etc. and always found these to be smoother, quieter, and displays better micro-dynamics, e.g. deeper and more clarity into the vocals and remaining neutral. The suit systems that are more digital and solid state based (I always only like silver cables with tubes). I have included a photo of each cable and some description below. The total replacement cost right now would be near 5k, so I think I have priced accordingly.
Items included:
- ISOL-8 minisub 2 unit, UK plugs
- ISOL-8 minisub 2 original box
- Clearer Audio Copper Line power cord with Furutech Rhodium AU (FI3112) plug and Furutech FI-28R IEC (used for wall socket to ISOL-8, improves dynamics to the entire system)
- Clearer Audio Copper Line power cord with Cables r us Rhodium UK plug and Furutech F11 (Rhodium) IEC (for integrated amp, again, more dynamics and details)
- Clearer Audio Copper Line power cord with default UK plug and Furutech FI-28G (Gold) IEC (for DAC, prefer Gold here to help retain vocal smoothness)
- Clearer Audio Copper Line power cord with default UK plug and Wattgate IEC (for phono stage, a very smooth sounding IEC)
- Clearer Audio Copper Line power cord with default UK plug and default IEC x2 (for Streamer and Server, I didn't notice much difference swapping them out)
- Russell Andrew powercord (for turntable motor, not sure how a fancy powercord could make it sound better?)
Please review the above and the photos, happy to explain better on your bargain/ long term purchase.
