I bought these from a local reseller about 4 years ago to scratch an itch having owned a pair of 401 chrome end caps when I first began my hifi journey.
They're in very good to excellent condition particularly for their age. The cabinets look new and are unmarked and have been refurbished with new rubber surrounds to the 2 X 8 inch woofers in each speaker and I understand the crossovers had been attended to by a well known speaker repairer here in Perth. Original tweeters. Middle and high frequency attenuators to adjust to room configuration are in good working order.
They sound very engaging and am told the more watts put through them the more they like it. I've run them through various solid state amps and my trusty valve amp with no issues whatsoever. I'm not a high volume listener and always impressed with their tonal qualities. When original released here in Perth way back when they were often mated with Accuphase amps to demonstrate their sonic qualities.
However I've moved on and now in process of rationilising stereo holdings. Other listings coming.
Solid steel stands are included in price. No original boxes for the speakers but are currently stored in sturdy packing boxes (Bunnings type). )
