Rare opportunity to own this setup. The 401 is the desirable earlier version with the better motor and chassis. This 401 has been fully serviced, meaning I sent the motor to CTC in the UK where it was serviced and the sintered bushes were replaced. This was around 1.5 years ago and wasn't cheap. All the springs have also been replaced along with the spark suppressors. So nothing left to do except a bit of oil every few months.
The plinth was built by Leviathan Audio here in Australia and the top plate is isolated from the rest of the plinth.
The top board the 401 is mounted in has four shallow metal cups mounted in each corner. These sit on Sorbothane cones (industrial parts) which are mounted in each corner of the black part of the plinth
The bearing was also modified by Leviathan Audio and sounds very good indeed.
The tonearm is a 12" Wand + which has wonderful synergy with Garrards. It has Cardas wiring and ETI bullet rca plugs.
There is also an Audio Silente idler wheel fitted for even better sound!
Cartridge is not included.
