One of Clays finest, Top of the line at the time, DAC
This has been the longest standing piece of equipment in my system for good reason. It’s an incredibly musical, analogue, non-fatiguing DAC. Great instrument separation.
This is in USB only version, which in Clays opinion is the best sounding one. It had a birthday in 2020 with Clay putting in a new relay muting circuit and DAC/ Amanero firmware upgrades.
At that time I bough the M18PSU Kraftwerk 12v 2A Nichicon Gold Tune Enhanced and it took the Gross to the next level!
There is a bit of a cult following of these DACs and plenty of reviews and discussion on SNA.
