For sale is an iFi Audio Micro iTube2 vacuum tube buffer and line-stage preamplifier.
The iTube2 is a versatile device used to add analogue traits to a digital system, DAC, or streamer. It features a Class A tube circuit with a General Electric 5670 tube, which is factory-rated for a long lifespan. It can be configured via bottom dip-switches as a 0dB/9dB tube buffer or as a pure preamplifier using the analogue volume control.
My Experience Using It:
I used this unit to add more tube sound to my chain, and it successfully achieved that effect. It is a very cost-effective way to introduce a valve presentation without the high expense of a standalone tube amplifier. The front toggle switch lets you change between three tube profiles (Single-Ended Triode, Push-Pull, and Classic Tube), which makes it easy to adjust the flavour of warmth to match your equipment. It also includes analogue 3D Holographic+ and XBass+ switches if you want to tweak the soundstage or bass response.
Item Condition: Excellent condition. It has been rarely used and comes complete with the original factory box, manual, and packaging.
Availability: This model is rarely available and hard to find on the pre-owned market.
Reason for Selling: Changing system layout; no longer require an inline tube stage in my signal chain.
