Further Information

These are a very nice pair of now rare Heresy speakers, known colloquially and unofficially as the model 1.5. Officially, there was no model 1.5 but they sat between the original and the model 2. These retained the original box but with upgraded model 2 drivers and E2 crossover network.  They have the floor mount "lean back" stands screwed to the bottoms. Matched pair, serial numbers 0039 and 0040. Original dust covers in excellent condition.

Upgrades:

1. Crossovers have been upgraded with audiophile caps (original "in spec" polyester stacked film, low inductance caps supplied with purchase)

2. Upgraded Dayton binding posts

3. Renewed cabinet stuffing and seals

Disclosure:

The bottom RHS at the back of one speaker is slightly swelled due to water. See the photo. We bought them like this and the PO advised that it was caused by an overflowing pot plant. (No words). Luckily this doesn't affect the sound or the cab seal and isn't noticeable being at the bottom rear anyway.

How do they sound?

We have had these for about 10 years, and from the beginning, we were hooked. About 5 years ago we imported a couple of pairs of H3s from the USA by way of an upgrade. We were very disappointed with the H3s, but gave them a year thinking they needed a lot of breaking in. In the end, we sold the H3s and kept the 1.5s which sounded so much nicer with our tube amps. A lot of speakers have come and gone over the last few years, but nothing has impressed us enough to knock them off their stumpy little perches. Unfortunately, they must now head to a new home as we won't have space in our downsized new home. Due to their high sensitivity, they perform very well with low powered 2.3w tube amps such as the Decware Zens and UFOs.

Pick up from Chisholm NSW, (Hunter Valley). Audition welcome. Unfortunately, I cannot ship these as they are way too heavy and will need some substantial boxes. However, I'm happy to drop them off at Pack n Send if you want to go that route.
