Further Information
Around 6 months ago I took a punt and bought these Lii Audio / Lii Song speakers. Yes they are BIG. No, they don't take a lot of power to drive them. Yes.... they sound DIVINE! I absolutely love them.
While most speaker makers go to extreme lengths to deaden their enclosures, these Lii S-10 take the opposite approach. They use a hollow, rounded, sculpted wooden case to act as a resonator – like a guitar, double bass or cello. There are a line of ports down the back. However, like an excellent guitar, cello or double bass, they sound balanced and wonderful.
I was so inspired by these that I mail ordered a pair of Lii Song 15” drivers, and built a pair of LARGE open baffles myself! ** (See last pic). However, as a result I can't keep both. Frankly (and unsurprisingly) the S-10 sound a tad better than my babies, but mine still need to break in. But as I can NOT keep both sets (they are all just TOO big) I need to move on one pair, And it's probably more sensible to sell these genuine, master built S-10s.
They are big.... 120cm x 60cm wide, 50sc deep, but relatively light. Their treble, midrange and upper bass are fantastic, but add a sub if you want to go really low. I think they are around 100db efficient, so very easy to drive.
Asking only what I paid for them.... $1,750. Cost on the Lii Song website for current version – USD$3,300. And a lot more to import them! I'd guess landed with GST – maybe $6K?
Local pick up only..... no boxes and too hard to freight. Bring a van!
Sensational review below.
** Last pic is of my open baffles... NOT included in this sale, but for comparison.
