McIntosh MC601 Mono Block Amplifier (pair)

These fabulous pair of mono blocks were my first foray into McIntosh although I had heard their products many times over the years. These are in excellent unmarked condition, operate as they should with no issues, cracks, chips, scratches or other nasty nonsense.

I used these to power a combination of hungry speakers which they did flawlessly, sounding as seductive as many of the McIntosh offerings. These are rare on the second-hand market because they are end game amplifiers for many. Sadly, after endless denial I unfortunately have to face the reality they will never fit in their intended location.

Comes with McIntosh Speaker Terminal Wrench (yes, they supply you with one).

I don’t have the original double cardboard shipping boxes BUT instead I have wooden shipping crates that were made for these units and these add an extra ~24 kg to the total weight bringing the total shipping weight to ~66 kg for each unit. Personally, for something this heavy and sensitive and to prevent shipping mishaps to the black glass front plate I would instead recommend the road trip and pick-up.

The MC601 is a Power Amplifier with a capability of 600 watts into 2, 4 or 8 ohm speakers with less than 0.005% distortion. The Power Amplifier Circuitry uses Thermal Trak (TM) output transistors for lower distortion and cool operation.
