This unit is now fully repaired and has new drive. Reads any CD or DVD-Audio (as well as some other discs)
Thanks to @woadl who provided me with DVD-Audio disc for testing.
Other than that, I do not know much about it. I am told that it is their second from the top unit as far as sound quality goes.

The MLP that is displayed there (and I ask about) stands for Meridian Lossless Packing, which is a DVD-A standard information coding on those discs (Meridian was one of the pioneers of DVD-A).
The unit has some blemishes on the top glass plate which I suppose could be replaced if desired.
