I am the second owner of this preamplifier. I have upgraded to a 252, but note that it is not simply a case of the 252 is better than the 282. With the right speaker, the 282 shines, creating sound that is sharply attacking and visceral. I was using the 282 with a Supercap, and it sounds excellent with 4 rails of power off this power supply. I was actually swapping between the 2 preamps for a long time, but after some recent changes have decided to settle on the 252.
This obviously makes most sense if you already have some Naim Classic components, so here's your chance to pick up a preamp at a fraction of the original retail cost. You will need a power supply like a Hicap or third party equivalent. It can also be powered by a Supercap or an appropriate power amp like the NAP 200.
It comes with the original box and all the necessary bits and pieces: NAPSC power supply and Australian plug power cable; Narcom 4 remote control; manual; link plug for single power supply; link plug for power amplifier which can power it. It is in excellent condition and no marks that I can see on the preamp.
Since I have the original box, it can easily be shipped interstate. All shipping costs to be borne by the Buyer.
I will also throw in a couple of cables for free which might be useful. Message me for more info.
Inputs: 6 DIN (one of which can power a Naim Phono stage); 2 RCA. Note that there can only be 6 inputs total. If RCA is used, it locks out the equivalent DIN input.
Power Supply: NAPSC input for the control circuitry; the preamp itself needs either 1 set of rails (Hicap), 2 sets of rails (Supecap) or a poweramp like the NAP 200 which can power it.
