this phono cable used to have xlr (balanced) plugs 

i changed to rca's 

so you may wish to re do the connections 

i never had any issues ,

item is the 2 rca's into a 5din plug configuration 

the earth is internally joined to the neg pin ,so no external earth cable is needed

the cable dose not have a box 

this is the series 1

series 2 i see is about $1400 RRP
