I bought this DAC from Addicted to Audio in August 2017 for the RRP of $3849. I don't know the current Australian RRP but the US RRP is $2299USD.
I had the following upgrades done to the DAC by Addicted to Audio in March 2023:
- Analogue 2 Upgrade
- Gen 2 USB upgrade
The upgrades cost a total of $1450. They reduced distortion and noise, the way it should be done. Improving tone and texture. The upgraded parts are as new.
If you've heard this DAC and thought the sound was brittle, then you may have heard it with the Logitech Squeezebox via Roon. That app sounds brittle in my system.
