Further Information: I purchased this Sonic Transporter i5 2nd Gen from Small Green Computer a couple of years ago and it's a been a great server. It has 1 TB SSD installed. It is being sold with the optional linear power supply from SGC which improves things quite a lot.
The STi5 runs on it's on the Sonic Orbiter software supporting Roon, Minimserver, Plex, Squeeebox and HQ Player if you want to be serious upsampling of files. It's a lean OS and has Roon up and running in less than 1 minute 
. At the time of purchase I had been considering going down the NUC path and in hindsight I'm glad that I went this direction - it's been a very handy turnkey server with great support from SGC / Andrew Gillis.
I recently upgraded to Nucleus + ..... And how do they compare ? ? Well, they are not that far apart meaning that these units are a very cost effective option for a fanless, discrete Roon server.
