One of the best sounding and best value streamers available.
It has a bit of a cult following and when combined with the upgraded linear power supply its's hard to beat.
I was an early adopter of streaming. I have built my own and bought a range of dedicated streaming hardware platforms including ifi, aurender, raspberry pi (with top hats, ), auralic, etc. and this streamer has really outshone all of these and worked flawlessly. Only passing it on because I now have a streamer / dac / pre-amp all in one device and have simply reduced the number of boxes and cables I need.
The ultraRendu utilises a new proprietary printed circuit board with only the essential components and many updates to match its ultra designation. The best way to connect the ultraRendu to a USB device is via your favorite USB cable. The ultraRendu is easy to configure, accepts streams from various sources, (including roon).
The modes it can operate include:
SqueezeLite Output - This output works with any Logitech Media Server and compatible controllers. This output supports true gapless playback of PCM, DSD/DoP, and native DSD.
MPD/DLNA Output:
DLNA Output - This output utilises streams from UPnP/DLNA servers and controllers. This output can be configured as an OpenHome renderer. This output supports true gapless playback of PCM, DSD/DoP, and native DSD.
MPD Output - This output is intended to work with an SMB mount. This output supports true gapless playback of PCM, DSD/DoP, and native DSD.
RoonReady Output - This output utilises streams from Roon. This output supports true gapless playback of PCM, DSD/DoP, and native DSD.
Spotify Connect Output - This output can be controlled by your computer or tablet running the Spotify application.
The linear power supply really makes all the difference and I wouldn't contenplate using the ultra rendu without it although this is possible.
I have included a speacil mounting plate that allows both the ultra-rendu and LPs-1 to be mounted together side by side but will include the original faceplates if you want to seperate the two units and place them apart or stacked ontop of each other rather than side by side.
The two units also have the optional rubber feet for isolation.
