SPL Phonitor SE with optionally included built in DAC768xs, AKM 4490 ‘Velvet Sound Premium Dac’ for sale. Current model in pristine, unmarked condition. Beautifully built in Germany. I’m the second owner. I’ve owned the unit for about 18 months after the original owner purchased from Addicted to Audio and owned it for approximately six months. I have couple of headphone amps and rotate through them, so this unit has been lightly used and always cared for.
A very powerful unit with five watts at 300 Ohms. I have used it as a Dac/Amp through USB and sounds excellent with my collection of headphones including Sennheiser HD6XX, Hifiman Arya V2, Grado GS1000e and Focal Radiance. The bass control and extension of the dac/amp is excellent, as are the dynamics. The treble is clean, well extended but presented delicately. Selling to try something new, perhaps from Violectric or maybe tubes. Original packaging and documentation included. Presents great value for the quality of this all in one dac/amp and is a pristine example.
