Further Information

Great condition Vintage pre/power amps.

Great sounding combo with power to spare.

The C2a is one of Yamahas flagship preamps from the late 70's and the B70 (M70 in Aus) power amp is 200wpc into 8 ohms from similar period.

These units were purchased from another SNA member last year who imports from Japan and refurbishes units back to spec.

His description below:

"Yamaha C-2a. Great condition cosmetically and also restoration has been completed. All switches and pots cleaned, replaced all electrolytic caps with high quality Nichicon Super Through on the power supply and Nichi KZ and fine gold elsewhere. Also, some film caps were replaced with 3% tolerance polypropylene caps matched. Adjusted to factory specs."

Great sounding preamplifier with an awesome phono stage MC and MM. I have yet to hear the C-2x but personally think the C-2a is one of the best preamps from Yamaha. All discrete components running in Class A. With specs that were way ahead at the time and still very respectable today. More info about it here -- http://www.thevintageknob.org/yamaha-C-2a.html--

"Yamaha B-70 power amplifier. Nice cosmetic condition and also has been restored. Everything checked, all caps replaced with high quality for audio caps, including power filtering caps, some resistors getting hot close to the pcb were replaced with 1%metal film. New relays and adjustments trimmers for DC and Bias new speaker connectors and also IEC power inlet for convenience.  All original output transistors. I replaced all the meter LED's and also replaced the other lamps with LED's Everything checked and adjusted to factory specs, pushing 200watt into 8ohm and more into 4 ohm. My speakers are 90dB and the amp never felt out of breath. Very airy highs and beautifully composed. Very nice and true to the logo of Yamaha "Natural Sound"

Please note that these are 100v Japanese Units and a stepdown Tx will be required. I have one here which I can supply (additional cost) if required.

I have the original foam filled shipping boxes that units were imported in so shipping not an issue.

Prefer to sell together but will consider separating.

Thanks for looking.
