Great condition Vintage preamp.
The C2a is one of Yamahas flagship preamps from the late 70's.
This unit was purchased from another SNA member last year who imports from Japan and refurbishes units back to spec.
His description below:
"Yamaha C-2a. Great condition cosmetically and also restoration has been completed. All switches and pots cleaned, replaced all electrolytic caps with high quality Nichicon Super Through on the power supply and Nichi KZ and fine gold elsewhere. Also, some film caps were replaced with 3% tolerance polypropylene caps matched. Adjusted to factory specs."
Great sounding preamplifier with an awesome phono stage MC and MM. I have yet to hear the C-2x but personally think the C-2a is one of the best preamps from Yamaha. All discrete components running in Class A. With specs that were way ahead at the time and still very respectable today. More info about it here -- http://www.thevintageknob.org/yamaha-C-2a.html--
Please note that this unit is 100V and a stepdown Tx will be required.
I have the original foam filled shipping box that unit was imported in so shipping not an issue.
Thanks for looking.
