For sale is my Weiss MEDUS Reference D/A converter. It was manufactured in about December 2019, so is going on about 4 years old. I am the original owner. The RRP was 34.5K. Serial number is 1101. It is in immaculate condition -- no scratches, no dings. It’s always been in a smoke free environment. Legendary performance, better than the DAC502 in all ways. It is an analytical DAC, but doesn’t introduce hype or fatigue. Note that it has RCA, XLR and optical inputs (no USB, no ethernet). If you require USB input then you’ll need a USB-to-SPDIF/AES converter.
The MEDUS is designed to drive a power amplifier directly, unlike some other high-end DACs. It uses Weiss’ discrete op-amps, the OP2-BP (four per channel) to ensure Class A for output loads. It has balanced and unbalanced outputs. You can set the gain in -4 dB steps to be the most compatible with your power amp or preamp.
Comes with remote, Owner’s Manual and original packaging.
